Why your 1 TB drive shows about 931 GB
Storage manufacturers use decimal units: 1 GB = 1,000 MB, 1 TB = 1,000 GB. Operating systems usually count in binary: 1 GiB = 1,024 MiB. So a "1 TB" drive = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes ÷ 1,073,741,824 ≈ 931.3 GiB — nothing is missing; the units differ. This converter includes both so you can check either way.
