How to use the Word Unscrambler
Type your letters (for example listen) and press Unscramble. Words that use all your letters are highlighted; below them you get every shorter word the letters can form, longest first.
Tips for word games
In Scrabble, the full-length anagrams usually score most — but check the shorter list too: a 5-letter word on a triple-word square often beats a 7-letter word on plain squares. The built-in dictionary covers common English words; very rare or proper nouns are not included.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many letters can I unscramble?
Up to 12 letters. Longer inputs are slow and rarely useful in real word games.
Which dictionary does it use?
A built-in list of common English words (no proper nouns), so results are the words you will actually meet in games.
Does it need the internet?
No. The word list ships with the page and every search runs in your browser.
